Hello, I have a 60HP Mariner 675 (I think early 1980's). My son had it on full throttle (just got his licence) and it cut out on him dead. No bag or bearing noise and no back firing etc. When we got it home I took out the spark plugs and the lower one had the electrode bend and touching the centre electrode. With the spark plus in, I can turn the fly wheel by hand and it sames to have a normal level of compression. With the plugs out, the motor turns freely. I put a magnet in through both spark plug holes and there were two tiny 0.5mm fillings in the bottom cylinder and nothing in the top one. Also both postons are moving.
What could the problem be? I have not tried to restart with new plugs yet.
Thanks for your help. Also, what is the best manual to get for this motor?
