bent trim tabs

I have a set of trim tabs on my 24 foot Grady White, they look like they have been bent and then straightened out and now they are quite wavy. How much will this affect their performance? they are 18 x 11 inches.

It should not make much of a difference.They still cover the same surface area and should still do the job well.Charlie

You could remove them and get them nearly perfectly flat with a rawhide or rubber mallet or better yet pound them between two pieces of flat steel, using blocks if they have the little wings on the edges.
