been looking for a boat for a long time now and i think the final verdict is a cuddy powerboat.
i will be going halfs with my dad and our budget would be ?4000. first, is there even hope of getting a speedy and comfortable cuddy at that speed?

also what size OB would you need on for example a bayliner 1702 and boats similar to get to what i call fast (around 40 knots)

Any boat suggestions would be really helpfull!

Re: Best cuddy?

I just bought an 88 21' Wellcraft with a Cuddy for $4500. I have put some more money into it, but it does run like a bat out of hell and has the cuddy for the grandson. I got it up to 53 mph with just me in it. There should be plenty of older boats that perform well with just a little work and maintainance done on them. Just look on craigslist and your local paper and you should find plenty and getting cheaper as the season winds down.

Re: Best cuddy?

not quite sure what the euro to dollar exchange is nor the prices in europe but i would think a 150 hp would come on that hull if your after speed with a cuddy you should really be looking at four winns liberator or a baja outlaw also a wellcraft nova or smaller scarab. those are all going to be your 60+ mph boats. but then again i am not sure about your prices and something more alone the lines of a four winns sundowner with a max speed of 40-45 mph might be in it for you.

the 4 models i mentioned are all i/o's and in your post you were asking about an ob, is this just because your looking at that model or are you going after only an ob?? for a single ob powered cuddy the only one i can think of would be that bayliner. hope i helped in some way.
