The trailer tires do not look good and I am about to make a 2600 mile trip. The tires show cracks around the wheel, possibly just cosmetic but it looks bad.

I have some good looking trailer tires that would fit. They are rated at 1045/lbs tire at 80 psi. Suspect they will work but really unsure about boat weight.

Edit: Cobia boat is a 1971 model.

Unless completely waterlogged (a good possibility) the 1045 tires will be sufficient, they give you just over 2000lb total capacity.

They are rated at 1045.....not 1450. I have no idea what this boat might weigh.

Sorry, misread the weight rating. IMO, 2K should still be enough. BUT at 2K, its even more important to KNOW its not waterlogged.

A 1971 Cobia is highly likely to no longer weigh what it did when new. You NEED to find a weight scale to drive it across. Look for certified trucker scales (truck stop/fueling depot) or recycling centers.

If there is no one waiting, I can drive across the recycling center closest to me anytime. Drop the coupler off my hitch and pull off the scale so its just the all up trailer and boat.

The boat is dry as a bone. Been sitting on a trailer for years. Looks like the weight will be fine based on other readings I have found. Thanks.
