What's everyone's opinion on the best, longest lasting vinyl paint money can buy?

I'm trying to re-do most of the seats on my boat, but I don't think I can handle the center double seats that fold down... I need to go to gray from white.

A link is greatly appreciated! I live in the boonies, and I'm pretty sure I'll have to order online.

Thanks in advance!

Not familiar with any names but be carefull. My father-in-law tried some of that and all of his seats cracked badly by the following season. Not sure how good of a fix this stuff is unless you plan to re-upholster in the off season.

Good luck!

I don't like the new formulations, they just don't stick becaus they do not soak into the grain of the wood.

Either a good spar Varnish or Oil Based enamel I use Rust-Oleum oil based paint.

Now Home Depot will argue with you and tell you it is not for wood, but we used oil based paints long before these children were born

I use the pain on my fishing plugs in saltwater and have yet to have a problem

I'm thinking more for the vinyl seats rather than anything wooden...

Am I on the wrong page here? Should I be looking for a different product?

I've had luck using duplicolour products for automotive use. It might be worth it for you to give it a try. I used the vinyl spray on some dash and door panels that I wanted to freshen up, it has been on there for a year now, and still looks good. The door panels have flexible handles that haven't cracked yet, that was a concern at first.

Hope you find something that works, maybe you can buy a can and test it first.

Best vinyl paint/dye I've found is ColorBond. It's used by Ford and several of the boat companies (Sea Ray, Chris Craft, Donzi) for factory touch-ups. You can't tell the difference from new if your vinyl is in decent shape.

I bought an '87 Sea Ray a couple of years ago where the Seashell colored seats (I call it off-white) had been discolored orange by some suspected hull cleaner overspray from the local boat yard. My wife painted them with the factory Sea Ray SeaShell color from Colorbond and they still look brand new after 2 years.
