Re: Best Oil For Two-Cycle, Air Cooled Engine?

HOW are they under more stress? Let's use my 150hp inline 6 and chain saw as an example. The outboard maxes out at 6000RPMs and says nice and cool from the lake. My chain saw runs at 10,000+ RPMs and can get up to several hundred degrees. Think about it for a minute. Anybody with half a brain can see the smaller engines are pushed much harder and there fore require a differenty type of oil. You might have "never had a problem", however, your engines will/have worn out faster than if you would have used a good oil - I guarantee it. Good oil is too cheap compared to the cost of my equipment. Think about it, how much oil does your weed wacker use in a year? Why not spend an extra $1 and get good oil?Originally posted by BinLurkin:<br /> Okay, one of you smart guys tell me how more stress is put on the tiny engines than on the big ones. Then, how come I've been running the K-Mart 2 stroke oil for 30 years in everything I've owned, chain saws, weed eaters, Tanaka hedge trimmers, Echo blowers, Gamefisher outboards, Mercury outboards & Tohatsu too without ever a problem?
