Unfortunately my upper cowl got badly damaged from my 03 25hp elec. BigFoot outboard and needs to be replaced. I have priced the cowling (PN# 4027-830562T 7 top cowl black) from Mercury and it is very expensive. Can anyone recommend a dealer that might sell below retail?

Go to www.mercurypartsexpress.com You enter your zip code. They will order your parts from the dealer that you choose, The dealers they show are close to you so you save on shipping. You will need to know your serial number of your motor.

I did look into the MPE, but they obviously only sell at MSRP which by the way is $380. The markup is quite high and I thought maybe someone might offer these parts at a discounted price.

There are some companies that specialize in marine engine salvage, they may be able to get one for you significantly less. Check out ebay as well, everything and anything is on there, and a lot of salvage companies list stuff on there.

Call Larry at Ellisport Marine.
He helped me get my 87 classic 50 running.
Bought some of my parts from him.

He is really good at finding the right part.
zero errors in his sending me the right parts.
He was instrumental in helping me as well.

Good guy in my book.
Idaho I think.

Google Ellisport bay marine

mercruiserparts.com has good pricing and a good web page.

No e-mail communication. It appears their e-mail address is dated or does not function. I still believe they could be a good source for factory parts.

So far the best prices with a prompt reply are from:

Jaco's Marine, Lawrenceburg, TN
Ellisport Bay Marine, Sandpoint, Idaho
Eds Marine Superstore, Ashland, VA

Good prices and web page, but no reply, I think their email is not working correctly.

mercruiserparts

Since factory parts are very expensive, this list of dealers that discount might be of some value to everyone.

I purchased the parts from Larry at Ellisport Bay Marine, Sandpoint, Idaho and could not be happier with the results. I highly recommend him for all of your factory Mercury parts, good prices and service. Thanks, Eagle.
