Best placement of transducer

Best place to mount transducer and plate? Or should I just leave the plate off and if so where to put transducer?

What kind of transducer, and what are we mounting it on?

When I get off work il use my pc and see if I can upload a pic of the back of the boat.

I am putting a lowrance fish finder on the boat.

You put the transducer where the owners manual tells you. That manual usually addresses the following:
​1) Right side of transom
2) specific projection below hull
3) As far from prop as possible
4) Not in line with anything under the boat (strakes, lines of rivets, etc.) that can create turbulence.
5) Specific cable routing and connections

I was thinking next to the speed sensor but not sure if that is ok

The most important thing is to place it in a clean flow of water ( nothing in front of it that will cause bubbles or turbulence).
