Best prop for a volvo penta aq131, 4 cyl

Does anyone know or can give advice on what prop pitch and diameter would be the best for my volvo penta aq131a 4 cyl. 17 ft boat v hull with a volvo 270 outdrive.<br /><br />Thanks

Hi Marvelous<br /><br />It depends a bit of the boat weight, but i think a 15X19 or 15x21 would be the choise. A volvo dealer should help you out. What was your previous pitch ?

A G Dane says, the previous setup is the best starting point for discussing alternative dimensions.<br /><br />Volvo has ranges in <br />14" dia from 10 to 23" pitch<br />15" dia from 11 to 21" pitch<br />16" dia from 13 to 17" pitch<br /><br />Most available both righthand and lefthand.<br /><br />14x19, 14x21 and 14x23 are available 'cupped'<br /><br />Some specs available for the 280 drive only (long hub).<br /><br />Add to this all the aftermarket brands.<br /><br />If you want to know more about props use the search and look for 'Wisdom of Propellers'
