I bought the boat used with 234 hours on the Yama and it has an existing 3 blade alum prop that is pretty beat up looking; paint mostly gone but doesn't look bent.
I mostly fish Charlotte Harbor and the accompanying rivers, lots of shallow water exposure 2 -6 feet, but often make long runs from the north end out to Boca Grande and back. On nice days have gone 5 miles off shore.
Current performance test was: me alone on boat - 280lbs. 1 g24 battery & 3 g27 batteries for largest trolling motor Minnkota makes, 101 lb thrust. 30 gallons of fuel on board. Hole shot was 3 seconds. WOT in 2' seas was 5200. GPS speed was 43 MPH.
Performance bulletin says my boat with an F150 (have 2 stroke) should be WOT at 5850 with speed of 50 MPH. They used a 13.75 x 19 black steel. I have a 14x17 alum that looks like hell.
My goal is the best performance available for my use/needs. Should I stay alum? go SS? 3 or 4 blade?
