My first criteria for going stainless is how deep is the water you're in? If you run in a shallow lake, I'd stay with aluminum or composite. That way you won't trash the gears when you eventually hit something. I've seen aluminum prop blades completely sheared off, yet the gears survived. On the other hand, I've seen stainless props with light damage but the gears were trashed. Props are a whole lot cheaper to replace than gears.<br /><br />Avoid ventilated stainless props for skiing. They slip too much. You need all the bite you can get. With some, you can get plugs for the vents.
