Any one have any suggestions for the easiest to get up on, singles and doubles, for new 12-14 y/o skiers?

I am going to volunteer to show up a the Church summer camp, with my boat and I want to be prepared for the timid to the bold. But their has to be more stable skiis to get up on than I have in my inventory.

Conelly makes wide double ski's for juniors, but they are a bit pricey, and then yamaha also makes good junior ski's but not wider, that is relatively cheap ......

Bananna boat and / or a 4 man tube would likely go down well also.

Not sure what you have in the boat now but if they are the older style flat bottom timber skis than there is better stuff around that is not that expensive. I have a pair of double skis made by Connelly that are great for beginners on 2 through to intermediate slalom. They are concave bottom so are more stable than the flat timber ones.

Yeah Paulie, after DJ mentioned the connelleys I went and looked on the web. There are several brands of concave, wide bodied Junior ski sets that are in the 150$ range, that look good. They all seem to come with tie bars that would make it real easy for a newbie to get up on the pair then if one was bolder they could try the one booted for a single.

You are right, those old flatbottom wood skis make me shudder. They were horribly squirrly.

Connelly's traditional skis are the best bang for the buck, also good for slalom when they want to learn. Ditch the tie bar, more harm than good once they get up. Stay away form the wide body skis, make it easier to get up but terrible ride. Most combos are okay for skiing on two but the Connelly's only a few dollars more normally.
