I would use indoor/outdoor or marine carpet...... check the Home depot web site for marine carpet.

Are you looking for carpet, or "monkey fur"? The "monkey fur" would most likely be what is in place currently on the boat. A thicker pile carpet would be softer to the touch, but I'm unsure on the look when you start to put it all around the walls and possibly ceilings.

With that said look online for a place called Corinthian Marine. They do carpet, and I believe provide it for the new Sea Ray boats. I purchased a large roll for my other boat, and will be installing it on my Cruisers Inc, when the time comes. The price was very reasonable, and the stuff looks really good. I can't comment on how it installs or holds up, but give them a look.

(From an upholsterer)

Most carpet for interior cuddy cabins is an off-white, non-backed fabric (although I've never heard it called 'monkey fur'). It is made specifically for this purpose as it is flexible and stretchable in two directions, whereas most material only has a one-way stretch due to the weave.

Heavier material will cause ripples and creases where the stock material will not. It is available from most upholstery suppliers if you want to install it yourself and should come already Scotch Guarded.

If you want it and are unable to locate it, PM me and I can direct you.

I found the term "monkey fur" all over the internet when I was researching the redo of my 27'er. I think the official name is hull liner?

Hull liner is the proper term. I actually have about 10 yards of it in my shop left over from doing my boat 8 years ago. Anyone want it cheap?? ;)

Hull liner is the right product to use. Like mentioned by Fireman431, it's a non backed short pile "carpet". Its light so its easy to conform to compound curves. Cut with a razor knife and it won't fray or unravel at the edges, which makes it ideal for lining curved surfaces.

This site has the best price I found, about $20 yard: http://www.sailrite.com/HullBlanket-Headliner-Hull-Liner-Carpet-Type-Ivory-M93-72

Looks like this:

There is also another product called "Head Liner". Its generally vinyl, smooth or perforated, and available with or without 1/4" foam backing. The smooth finish with foam back gets a little pricey at about $32 yard. The perforated vinyl without foam backing is about $15 yard.

This is the stuff on the walls of my cuddy. I like it because it is thick and soft.. not sure if the hull liner is like this.

No, sorry. I have never heard of the "Monkey Fur". I have the hull liner material. It's off-white and looks like the pic Mark42 posted. I have never seen the stuff you have in your pics.

That looks kinda like old sheepskin seat covers!
