Hey guys, I have to buy a new shift cable for my boat, just wondering based on the forum members experience what time of year would be the best time to buy it. Perhaps some of the better vendors have annual sales that would be the best time to buy?

Parts is parts . . . many don't go 'on sale' . . . mostly maintenance supplies go 'on sale'.

So, the time of year when you need them would be the time to buy.

When you do have the luxury of not needing certain parts right away, you can compare "delivered price" of those parts by comparing prices at traditional brick-and-motar places or Internet sites as some may discount parts but when the cost of shipping is added, that may be more than another place that has a higher initial prices but free or lower shipping charges.

Spend your money with those places:
1-that might offer you free advice (dealer/shops) or
2-sites (such as the site your asking this very question on)
if the cost difference with no-name places is pretty close.

I have found the best way is to get the OEM part number for the part(s) then start your investigation.

Best time to buy parts is when you need them and not after it's broke and you are stranded on the water.

No particular time. This website iboats has sales from time to time.

Why not buy from this site where you get all this free advice?
