best trailer tires

hello, i am new to iboats fourm so i am going to aska question that has probably been asked many times before so please bare with me. who makes the best tirees for boat trailers it is tme for some new ones and thanks for your opinions

I am sure you will get plenty of opinions on that question.
I run the tires from Northern Tool and have for years.3 boat trailers,a camper and a utility trailer and not one tire problem.They wear very well too.

For every 2 people that recommend Goodyears, 2 more people will say they're junk... if 3 people say Maxxis is good, 3 more people will disagree... I'm sure you see the pattern forming...lol

FWIW, I've been using Carlisle Sport Trail Radials. I had them on an enclosed trailer and put a bunch of miles (all highway speeds) and never had a problem. I've got a set on my boat trailer too.

The best tires are fresh tires... replace them every 3-4 years & keep the max air in them.

LOL- first vote for Marathons.

I have run Carlisle, Titan, Trailmaster, Trax (never heard of them and haven't since), Dean Stratton (in the 70's) and currently Goodyears. I've had them on my trailer now for 4 years and probably have 10K on them. (Two trips from Ohio to Florida, three to western New York, 4 or 5 to Lake St. Clair in Michigan, etc,) I posted on another thread that I believe jacking up your trailer to take the load off the tires when it won't be used in a week or more is the best thing you can do to help extend the life of your tires. All of my failures have been tread separations and I think it's because of flat-spotting of the tires. That generates heat in the tire and heat kills tires.
