Hi all,

I have a 16' custom cover for my boat and it has a little of everything on it. Tree sap, Mildew, and just plain dirt. I bought my boat a few weeks ago for $250.00. But since it sat for most of this year outdoors, the cover took a hit.

What is the best way to clean it and what type of solution should I use. Its water repellant right now but it will leak when it rains heavily so I am not worried about losing its repellant as I can always spray some on it later.

Thanks for the help! This forum is outstanding.

Rob

I have no idea if this is OK, but what I do is get some laundry detergent (powder), a hose and a scrub brush. I lay the cover out on the driveway, soak it, and spread the laundry detergent a little at a time and start scrubbin'. I use the hose inetrmittently and then, of course, a final rinse. Works for me.

Thanks, that was my thought also but wanted some other opinions also. I would not worry about it, but the cost of a custom cover is so high that I want to take care of it.

Rob
