I have a seadoo cover that is looking very ragged. I have a hydro port (PWC Port) on the water I leave my ski on and left it with the cover on all winter. It picked up some mold in areas and just looks much older than it really is.

Is there a good way to clean the cover so it will look good again?

Thanks!

For some reason, I hate the cheap replacement seadoo covers you can get on eBay, Amazon, etc... A new OEM Seadoo cover is about $250+ and not easy to find.

I live in an area that doesn't get too cold in the winter so the ski is fine left out until ready to ride again (I put STA-BIL in the tank and bring the battery inside hooked up to a bettery trickle). When Spring rolls around, just a quick exterior rinse, put the battery back in and it's ready to ride. No problems. Since I leave the ski out all winter, I leave the cover on all winter. I'd rather the cover take the sun and occasional rain beat down, than the ski.

I cleaned it with a mildew stain remover, then soaked it in a big storage tub filled with hot water, laundry detergent and some bleach cleaner. It didn't come out looking new, but much better than it did. Good enough to continue using.

If anyone has some magic cleaner that works well on boat / jetski covers, please let me know so I can try that next time I give it a thorough cleaning.

The cover is most likely weathered and not dirty. Might aswell take the hit and get a cheap one on amazon.(I like amazon because if it doesn't fit or you don't like it free returns and return processes as soon as ups picks up your package. Went through 2 boat covers before I found the right one for my boat)

It is weathered (about 3-4 years old), but was also definitely really filthy. I'm sure the way I did it wasn't the best way, but it came out pretty good. As mentioned, I just cleaned it first with Star-Brit Mildew Stain Remover, then soaked it a big tub for a couple hours (mixing around often) with hot water, Clorox Bleach Cleaner, and laundry detergent. Rinsed it off, let it dry and it was good to go.

Here's a couple after pics. I didn't take any before, but wish I would of. It was in pretty bad shape with all the mildew.

I have a waverunner that sits on a lift on my shore all summer and then in my storage garage through rest of the year. I use the factory covery and then a second generic one size fits all cover over the factory cover. Cheapo cover takes the sun damage and factory cover looks like the day I brought it home.
If the cover has no holes and if you don't care abut appearances then don't worry but if you are like me and things need to be pristine, pick up a new oem covery and an inexpensive generic pwc cover as well. 250 bucks isnt even a drop in the ocean of the boating and marine lifestyle.

Interesting idea jkust!

I might just have to do exactly that for the off season. Get a cheap cover and put it over the OEM one while not using it for a period of time.

Thanks!
