I have a 1994 searay 270 sundancer I got it months ago with no trailer had it dropped off and put on blocks/stands. I just picked up a triple axle float on trailer cheap fixed it up now its ready to go under the boat.. What is the best and safest way to get trailer under the boat? I have had many boats but have never needed to do this.. I thought about having the guy who dropped it off pick it up and bring it to ramp but the boat is not ready to float no drive is on it and I have no room to get the drive on it because of how the boat is parked :D:facepalm: its up againsed something with about 2ft of room behind it.

All Ideas Appreciated!!

??----Jack up the front of the boat.--------Move blocks further back.---------Now move trailer under front of the boat.--------Jack up the front of the boat.---------Remove blocking.----Lower boat onto trailer.-------Move jack back and jack the boat up again.------Move trailer back (1 or 2 feet ) lower boat onto the trailer.------ETC.-----This is how I have taken a 29' boat of a tandem trailer by myself.-----Put it back on by myself too.-------Or that other option is to hire a crane if it sounds impossible.

not sure what a float on trailer is? is your trailer bunks or rollers? Ive never done what you are trying but think what racerone said seems to be reasonable.

with a roller trailer you might have able winch it on, I had a 26 foot Wellcraft I had to winch on once but that was from the water. I had no power and the ramp was shallow. I could only put about half the boat on, not a fun day.

Bunks will be a little harder but better for the boat once you get it on.

I think it will definitely be a group effort and cost at least a case of beer, after the boat is on the trailer, lol.

Apparently they put men on the moon 50 years ago.------Putting a boat on a trailer can't be that hard to do.

This is what I did when I rehabbed my trailer. Not hard at all, just take your time.

I’ve done this a few times, it’s really not difficult....but I would definitely recommend taking your time. Back under it slowly remove jack stands as you go....I’d be very careful with how you use the bottle jacks....you’d hate to put a hole in the bottom of your boat from one.

I had a boat fall of a jack stand during this process once before. That was NOT fun. Now I’m extra super careful anytime doing this project

Put a piece of lumber like a 2X8X4 feet between the bottle jack and the hull and a piece of rubber matting between the wood and the hull so not to slip. The larger piece of wood will distribute the wieght much better so not to stress a small point of the glass at the head of a bottle jack. Do you know anyone with a forklift? That's how we have done it with straps, much more secure than jacking her up. But jacking it is very doable just be careful. For the price of a 1/2 day rental for a forklift and straps I would rent 1 and sleep much better the night before.

I drop my boat off the trailer and onto blocks fairly regularly if I need to work on the trailer. The trick when putting them 'back together' is not to pull the boat onto the trailer, but allow the trailer to be pulled under the boat.

The trailer has tyres designed to roll. The boat hull is not designed to be dragged across anything less slippery than water.

If you have an electric winch on the trailer and it's supplied from the car, put the car in neutral and the handbrake/park brake OFF, then allow the whole lot to be pulled under the boat. Once the boat's loaded enough onto the trailer to allow the stern up off the ground/blocks, it'll slide up as is its want...

Tyre eh achris. How much is a pint where you are now? One of my favorite times of my life was when I spent 3 weeks doing a job in southern England. Worked my way across from Ramsgate to Plymouth and everywhere in between back and forth more than a few times. Palm trees in Bournemouth blew my mind.

I've been down under as well in January of 1998 I'm from the land up over, Canada. I just would have wished I was 20 years younger and a lot less married when I was there.
