best way to seal inflatable avon

what is T H E absolute best way to seal a inflatable. i have a avon 12'9 has a 3 inch slash in center of tube, my wife sewed it shut and then we applied a patch , following directions, and then 2 days later we used the liquid you pour inside the tubes, but then we got that same liquid seeping out of our new patch... ive heard you must seal them 2 and 3 times over, is this true... what about liquid rubber? any ideas thanks !!!

:D :D Up late, again, Snapper? :D :D :D <br /><br />PYA - go back and re-read my response in our original query on this subject. Avon boats are made out of hypalon. Holes, rips, tears, etc can be easily patched and the patches are as strong (or stronger) that the original material.

I learned the foam deal from an episode of Junkyard wars.. :p Worked for them.. :D
