best way to seal transom where wires go thru?

I just ordered 4 led spot lights for my trim tabs.I need to drill a hole above the water line to run the wires thru the transom.What is the best way to seal the hole with wires going thru it?

Hi, the best stuff I have come across is called "sikaflex" its a marine sealer and adhesive. It comes in a tube like mastik and fits into a normal mastik gun. If you decide to get a tube of "sikaflex" be careful as I have known the white to discoulor and go yellow in the sun after time.

I have a 1971 boat with an original flawless transom. Had to run cables thru the transom for the new fishfinder and was very paranoid about doing so. This is what I did and am very confident in the waterproofness (is that a word?).

Drilled a 7/8" hole thru the transom where I wanted it. Using a rat-tail file, I made a chamfered edge around the hole edges. I then cut a piece of PVC electrical conduit to fit flush to the inside and outside of the transom. The conduit fits nicely in the 7/8 drilled hole. I mixed up a batch of epoxy and coated the inside of the drilled hole in the transom. Took the remaining epoxy and coated the outside of the conduit and slowly twisted and inserted the conduit into the hole making sure the space between the drilled hole and the conduit was completely filled with epoxy. Turned out very nice and I then installed a stainless steel clamshell cover for a finished look.

3m 4200 will work.

Ditto...4200 is good and removeable, 5200 is better and not removeable w/out a grinder.
