Lots of different sites... What carb are you trying to replace? (Engine model and serial number would be a nice place to start)...

Chris....

EDIT: I've done something I've been told off for in the past, but had the time anyway (and will no doubt get told off again ;))...

1. You're not very forthcoming with your engine serial number, are you? After Don and I extracted a number from you, it was wrong. You said you'd check and post again, but never did... Don fiddled with the number you gave and came up with a likely number... PLEASE CONFIRM YOUR ENGINE SERIAL NUMBER. You may not be aware, but this serial number is crucial information for us to help you with your problems. Without it, it's all just guess work....

2. Now, based on what I THINK is your serial number, you have a 1992 3.0l engine. Uses a Mercarb carburetor. A new one from Merc is around $800... But I think you should be able to do better than that... THIS looks like a reasonable site...

Please come back and give us that serial number, you have no idea how important it is.....

ok chris i did some more digging and the only other number i found was GM for manufacture and 4097080 stamped on the side of the block and year made 92. i did find that website as well but does it seem legit to be $600 cheaper than a new merc one?Cause if it is a reliable site thats a hella of a deal

That's still not a Mercruiser engine serial number....

A valid serial number will look like the ones in my signature (see below)

Re: Best Website to order a Carb from

I needed to rebuild my carb. on the 1980 3.7/Mercruiser 470 engine. My son in law was a top line Chevy mechanic.

When he went to get a carb. kit, it was a 2 barrel carb. off a 1967 Chevrolet Impala 307 engine.

I thought that was amusing. Mercury has never been known to be the highest of technology.

The carb body might be the same used in other applications (I'd be surprised if it wasn't), but the jetting and other set-up items will be very different. Things like accelerator pump stroke, power valve lift-off. Also remember that a marine carb has no port on the throttle barrel for a vacuum advance.... It will have the float bowl internally vents too... Putting an automotive carb on just because it looks the same is a really bad career move

Finally... A valid engine serial number for a 1993 Mercruiser 3 litre... (it's the 3.0L, not the 3.0LX)

The carb on this engine is a Mercarb 3310-806077A2 (OEM part number)...

Here's the specifications. Yours is the one in the first column, the 36mm...

For the future it might be an idea to out the engine and drive serial numbers in a signature file, the same as many of us do... Like mine...
