I finally got a good job, got all the issues at work squashed and was rocking along nicely. I got caught up on the maintenance on my truck and motorcycle and had a day off so I decided to change out the seat on my tractor. I ran to the hardware store in my truck because I needed some nuts and washers to go on the bottom of the seat and the parts couldn't be removed from the seat, so I took the whole seat to the hardware store to get it fitted with the hardware.

Well, I walk outside and hear a cracking noise in the tree above my truck. I look up, realize the branch is going to break and I jump in. I get the key in the ignition, I hear CRACK then WHA-LAM and the truck shakes. Impact. Wonderful.

Don't know if your state has no fault insurance, but you should at least get some free hardware out of it! One thing I've learned never to ask is "What next?".

Oh yea and that dust isnt dust, it's pollen. Spring has sprung here. That collected on that truck in like 2-3 days.

Happy Spring! We are slated for 6" of snow starting tonight. Getting old.

I can relate, somewhat. After my 3 month old snowblower blew a rod, I was told that the engines were back ordered until late April. Then I get a call from Sears and the replacement engine will be delivered today! Whoo hoo. When we had the UPS guy put in the garage, we found a major garage roof leak. And yes, it is slated to rain all day.

That sucks. Glad the damage was minimal

3 years ago, we were on the way home from picking up our Pacifica from the tire store where I'd just had to drop over $600 that I didn't have on 4 new tires to pass inspection....my wife and son were in that and I was following in my truck. Going through the woods, a huge tree branch dropped out of the sky and shattered my windshield, ripped my antenna and passenger side mirror clean off and put a big dent in the door pillar. The rest of the way home I just kept saying to myself "please don't let there be any metal damage....please don't let there be any metal damage". Unfortunately there was that dent. Our third vehicle, an older Buick that we used for commuting, was also in need of a repair at that time. We refer to this weekend as "The Carpocalypse."

From the glass half full point of view, you could have been standing under the branch when it broke. It may have ended up on you instead of the truck.

No but I have a dog named Lucky. Is that a bad omen?

Does he have only three legs?

but on a serious note it could have taken out your windshield as well as your paint
