BF100D Waterpump Question

I recently bought a BF100D at an estate sale for $100. I ordered a repair manual CD but haven't received it yet. I got it started but no water circulation from top, lower water intake screen is clear. From other post I know I need to replace the impeller, what other parts should I also replace along with it and is there a kit that includes them all? Gaskets, waterseal etc?

Re: BF100D Waterpump Question

The upper and lower waterpump housing should be replaced as well. You can purchase a waterpump repair kit that will include everything but the lower housing. We have replaced many Honda impellers and sometimes the housings appear to be good but will not pump water when you re-assemble. Other pump fine. You may be able to get away with replacing just the impeller, but there is a risk you may have to take the lower unit off a second time. Good luck!

Re: BF100D Waterpump Question

Thanks for the advice. I don't mind doing some preventative maintenance if it will prolong the life and performance. I guess I'll be able to tell more about the kit and associated parts when I get my repair manual.

As far as the housing problem...do you think it was a crack or bad seal? I've read that sometimes all impellers don't work with all housings...even if the book says they're supposed to. I guess I'll find out soon enough!

Thanks!
