My new BF150 is due it's first 20 hour service as suggested in the maintenance schedule of my owner's manual. It consists of some oil changes, engine oil and gear case oil, a few checks to plugs, throttle linkages, etc., nuts and bolts tightening, and lubrication. My dealer says it will cost $385. This is my first boat so is this a usual or normal amount to expect to pay for this type of service??? Seems high to me but I don't know. Do I have to follow the recommendations and use Honda authorized service in order not to void my warranty?

Me personally, I would do it myself. All depends if your mechanically inclined. The manual pretty much tells you what to do step by step. It's all basic stuff. Oils, grease fittings, etc.

I would check and see what items i can touch without voiding warranty. If none of these items void warranty, do it yourself.
