bhp rating

HI there i have a 1989 4.3 mercruiser with alpha outdrive.It is rated as 175bhp,would this be at the prop or the flywheel.I know they did start to change the way the way they advertised bhp.<br />Thanx for any help

Call or e-mail mercruiser with your serial # to get a definitive answer. They changed the way they rate things, flywheel vs. prop shsft at some point....Not sure when.....But they will know.....JK

That motor is rated 155 at the prop for that year here in the states. I have the same motor in my 1991 blue water and thats what my manual says.
