Hi.

I have a 1991 Stratos 290 S/F. The boat on the trailer weighs about 3000-3500lbs.

What is the better choice? Bias-ply tires or radial tires?

Need new tires and don't know what to get.

Thanks for the help.

Tom

Stratos,

Radials will run a little bit cooler.

The most important thing is to get tires that are "ST" rated. That means "trailer".

There is a difference, trailer tires have stiffer sidewalls.

Stratos
Go with the ST Radials, roll much eaiser for better fuel mileage. Also turn eaiser with dual axel trailers. I have a friend with a 19 foot bass boat he keep it the garage. Problem was had to turn at a angle to fit in garage. He would always back up his drive way until tires even with door then unhook and push in by hand. He got new Radial tires and went to push in like he did twice every weedend, outboard almost went thru the rear wall becaused it pushed so much eaiser.
