So we took the boat out this weekend and had a great time! Rebuilt Johnson is running like a dream since the link and syc.
Anyways, we head in on Saturday to get a bite to eat back at camp. We get to the dock and theres 5 wallye boats lined up to load so we wait our turn.
The first 4 powerload and propwash the crap out of the ramp. I just shake my head and tell the wife that is why there is a drop off at the end of the ram.
So, #5 powerloads and once he is against his bow stop he give it a bunch of throttle and just leaves it like that. Walks to the bow leans over and hooks his bow strap. He then walks back and brings it back to an idle and shuts down. The whole time I was thinking to myself "what an idiot" if his bow stop bracket had failed there is no telling what kind of damage and injuries he may have gotten. Not to mention all the prop wash destrying the ramp. I have watched a bunch of power loading but this one took the cake.
Once he is out of the way the wife backs our trailer down and I lead our boat up to the trailer by hand line, run the winch line out about 2 feet, hook to the bow eye and crank it up tight, take maybe 5-10 min tops. The whole time there is this jack*** making comments saying just powerload and it would be quicker. I have him on ignore and just keep on keeping on. As, we are pulling up out of the water, mr. "just power load it" does just that and is kinda off to one side of his trailer and misses the bow stop and puts a bout a 10'' gouge in the side of his boat. I just look at him and say "you should load like I just did and there wouldn't be a new racing stripe on your boat." He flips me the bird and I drive away.
So people's children
