Can anybody tell me what the part number for these are?

My Dad is going to the USA next week, and I want to see if he can get me some spare coils from a NAPA store.

BTW it's a 1968 model.

Lark go to iShopmarine.com, click on parts search and enter the OEM p/n, it will give you the #'s of aftermarket parts as well as if the OEM p/n has been superceded.

18-5181 for the Sierra/Iboats/NAPA autoparts, etc one. Last I heard they sold for about $17USD each through them.

There may be a Sierra distributor in Australia. I finally found in Canada that sells the coils for a good price. Much faster & less expensive then ordering from the US.

yeah, there are sierra dealers here, but the price markup is unbelievable, OEM coils are around $80AUD, and the sierra coils are $60AUD.

It will be much cheaper for my Dad to pick some up for me while he is there, than for me to buy here or get imported.

Yikes!

Lark2004, if you don't mind me getting off topic here for a second, what did you end up using for a hood seal? I saw your pics over on old-omc.de. :)

I'm getting tired of waiting for nymarine.ca to make black seals. Plus the $1/ft it'll probably cost.

some rubber seal that I got from a local rubber supplier, I'll take photo of it's profile when I get home and post it. From memroy I think it like what the car manufacturers use to seal the trunk.

I've used black fuel hose, split down one side as a gasket. Run a bead of sealant inside the hose and slip it over the rim of the cowling. Works wonderfully!

As for the coils - most NAPA stores may not have them in stock and usually can offer a next-day pick-up as they order them from a regional warehouse. Wouldn't hurt to call ahead with the part number and check...

- Scott

The guys at the local johnny-rude dealer got me some stuff that is a bit different but works just as well, and looks better IMO for $1.70 a foot in a 10 foot roll. The next week I noticed you could buy almost the same stuff in 3 foot sticks down at the local auto parts store... sold as black vinyl door edge gaurd
