I have no idea why the mods shut down the old thread...don't think that was right. There were many people following this story and I don't think anybody was out of line except the usual discussuion forum banter.
To keep you guys up to date...
I gave an oral examination at Progressive's office 3 days ago with a court reporter and another guy.
The line of questioning was ridiculous and made me feel like I was a criminal. It was very uncomfortable and the guy kept on leading me into questions like - "so what you're saying is that you're in financial distress". And I would reply something like - "no, I never said that, what I said was that this year I've made less money than last year".
Every other question was like that and if he didn't get the answers that he wanted, he would come back and re-phrase them later.
At one point and on the record, I told the guy if he knew how bad of a reputation his company had when it came to paying claims. He said he didn't know and I told him to do some research. I honestly told him that his entire line of questions was like a fishing expedition etc.. I was just a little pissed off by the end because it was so repetitive. He asked me about phone calls from 3 months ago and I told him that there's no way for me to remember who I called 3 months ago when I can't even remember who I called 3 days ago.
He was really reaching...But he said that this was the last step of the investigation and he was going to send his report to the first guy and I should hear something either way soon.
So that's where we are now. My lawyer still wants to sue them for the way I've been treated but I don't know if that's even going to go anywhere.
I will post again when I have a solution to this saga. Thanks to all and happy holidays !
