i have a 1988 bayliner capri 1900 w/ 125 hp force outboard. there are 2 - 4" speakers one under each rear seat in the back of the boat. is it ok to cut the holes bigger to put 6x9's in their place?

sure, if ya got the room, depth included...... i never seen speakers with rear supports. maybe some marine speakers have that featcher. i don't know...... boats sure do pound a bunch. i use auto speakers, 6 1/4s i think.... no rear supporsts, not to heavy though. mounted in the side under the gunnels...

Re: bigger speakers

I used to have 6 1/2 but I "aquired" a pair of rear speaker assy's from a Ford Ranger. Molded grill with a little bit of an angle, and best of all - the color was almost a perfect match. Look like they are supposed to be there.
