bilge drain plug question

The transom of the Glasspar I am restoring has a hole as the bilge drain, but it is simply a hole in the plywood. I'd like to purchase a transom drain tube. I found one at West Maine that has an outside diameter of an 1" 1/8. However, the hole in my boat is 3/4". So, I either need to bore out the hole or find one that fits the existing hole. I suppose my options are:
1. Bore out the hole - what is the best way to do that, because that doesn't sound as easy as it sounds?
2. Find one that is 3/4" in diameter - who sells one that size?
3. Make one out of plastic components from Home Depot - is that a reasonable option?

Your input is greatly appreciated.

Re: bilge drain plug question

Looks good. The hole is located very near the bottom of the transom, approx 1/4" from bottom, so I'll have to grind off a portion where one of the screw hole mounts is located. Shouldn't be too difficult. Was hoping to find a plastic one to simplify the grinding but still a reasonable option.

Thanks,
BR

P.S. Grew up on a small lake near West Branch, MI, just off I-75. Lots of lakes, fishing, and hunting. Great place to grow up.
