I have a 1992 ProCraft 170 Fish-N-Ski. I'm replacing the bilge pump and I'd also like to replace the bilge outlet hose. The only 3/4" hose that I can find locally, aside from a radiator hose at Auto Zone, is the following hose from Home Depot:

http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc...10053&langId=-1&keyword=sbvnl10&storeId=10051

It is braided and appears to be strong enough not to collapse. Anyone have any thoughts on using this hose or possibly a source for a stronger hose?

Thanks,
texasvet

Re: Bilge pump hose

Check out your local hardware store (not Home depot/Lowes/Etc) and see if they have any reinforced vinyl hose. It looks exactly like the high end bilge hose, only white instead of black.

The stuff you listed is much better than normal, cheap, run of the mill corrugated bilge hose that will restrict flow. I have some old corrugated bilge hose from my old boat, probably 10 years old, and it snaps easily if bent...

Do you have an extra washing machine hose sitting around the house? or is that half in. The one you suggested would handle more than your purpose.

thick wall clear vinyl tubing from the hardware store works well if you don't have any tight 90* bends.
