Bilge pump install on a MFG caprice 17 foot

Here is my problem on my MFG caprice switch panel I have a switch for a bilg pump but I dont have one. I neeed to know where to install it on the boat. The owner before me redid the floor but not the wiring so I am doing a rewire
Do I neeed a bilge pump? The boat will not be in the water for more than a few hrs at a time.

Uh, the pump goes in the bilge, preferably at the lowest point. And yea, u do need one. CG rules.

Depending on the year, some MFG's had a molded in recess under the splashwell for the pump. If the floor was redone, it was probably removed. I would suggest cutting a hole in the floor under the center of the splashwell as close to the transom as possable. The bilge is not very deep in those boats, so you may not be able to get a cover on the pump. Seal the (cut edges to keep water from seeping into the plywood) edges of the hole. Plus, it will let water that splashes in the boat to drain into the bilge.
