The boat I have consists of the hull having 4 seperate compartments each interconnected by a 25mm hole drilled through each compartments allowing water to flow through to the drain plugs at the back of the boat, each compartment is fitted with a hatch so as to gain access, and for general inspections of the hull from the inside,
The question I need to ask is "where should I mount the bilge pump" (front, middle, rear)
kind regads.
William Wright.

n

Re: bilge pump placement.

Depending on the size of your boat, you may need 2. If you only have a smaller boat, the water should always make its way to the stern. If you instal 1 it should be mounted as close to the v in bottom as possible, less than a meter from the transome. This gives you room to place where you can get to it.if you have an i/o (maybe placed under engine). Some boats have a second pump towards the bow. If you have a cooler or anything else that drains into bilge this is a good idea. Inspect the holes between compartments every now and then to make sure they don't get pluged up.

Jim
