Does anybody see a problem with my bilge pump draining into the splashwell? There are to drain holes from the splashwell. Were planning to run bilge hose through the fuel line hole.

As long as it goes outside of the boat should be no problem.

It will work in normal circumstances. The only potential issue I could see was if you took on a lot of water by burying the bow or a big wave, and the water exiting the deck was competing with the water exiting the bilge. Preferencial placement would be a through-hull.

Studlymandingo, I may have been incorrect in my terminology. What I called a splashwell is a raised area, almost like a tray, in the stern. My fuel tank and batt. is under it. I will try to post a pic. if possible.

Not sure if the pic worked but from what SBN said it should work fine. By the way if the pic worked, its not my boat it is just a similar one that I saved a lot of pictures from to aid in restoring mine.

You have to have a hosting site like photobucket(free). Upload your pics to there and them use the url they give you to post the picture. How did you post your avatar without a pic host?

That way doesn't work. You have to use a hosting site like photobucket.com, then use the little yellow button that looks like mountains in the back ground and paste in the URL that photobucket gives you.

I haven't got the photobucket thing down yet either.

One thing occurs to me, do you really want the slim from your bilge pumped all over the back of your boat?

Re: bilge pump question

That shouldn't be a problem considering that this is a low budget project boat that has horrible paint anyway. And if I was really worried about that I could run the hose all the way to the drain hole.
