Have an old hand bilge pump, all brass, made be Roote Lowell, Chicago. Only number on the pump is MO 3. Looking for replacement parts ie washer and bushings. Does anyone know anything about these pumps and where I may get parts?

The one brass bilge pump i ever saw looked like a bycyle pump, only larger. It belonged to a friend of mine way back when I was in high school.
My father rebuilt it for him,and used 1/4" tanned leather ,cut slightly oversized.
And I helped :D
That was what the originals were made of,only they were layered thin pieces (which we didn't have on hand.
It werked like a champ on my friend's skiff.
His dad had one made of pvc, but it wasn't half as fast as the brass one.

Beemer, try a plumber and fix it if you can. I've got an old brass hand pump, on my boat. Works like a darn and way better than a modern plastic model, plus I can accidentily fall on it from off the gunwale as much as I like, which is a necessary prerequisite for everything in my boat. I'd like to know for future reference how you fix it in case mine ever gives. 12 Footers suggestion is noted, but I know mine has rubber parts inside.

By the way, if you fix it, try shining it up with brasso once in a while. Mine looks more valuable than the boat for about two days!
