I have a Rule 1200 GPH Bilge pump with a separate Rule Switch that I am installing. Question is how close to the pump can you get.
The perfect place where it is at the lowest point and a flat surface is about a half an inch from the pump. If I put it anywhere else it will be at an angle and up. I just don't want the switch to interfere with the pump or visa versa,

If one has to be higher, make it the float switch. You'll be fine if you have a few inches of water left over. You just don't want the switch still 'on' and the pump running dry.
