Hello All:

I am in the process of restoring a '69 Glastron Crestline V174 and need some info regarding placement of the bilge vent duct hoses. The boat had a total of 5 hoses in the bilge when I got the boat, although all were pretty well rotted and laying in the bottom of the bilge.

At the rear of the boat are two air "scoops" facing fore, two scoops facing aft and a bilge blower and screened vent mounted on the inside of the transom. All duct hose is 2-1/2" diameter rubber coated fabric with a wire spiral.

I am assuming that the blower ducting would be routed all the way to the bottom of the bilge to pull any gasoline vapors which are heavier than air out of the bilge.

Any info anyone could give me on the placement of the other four hoses for the "scoops"would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to put them back in the same configuration as the boat left the factory 40 years ago, but can't find any info on this particular subject.

Thanks

Re: bilge vent/blower hose routing

Fresh air intakes should bring air into the engine compartment and be routed over to the engine/bilge area. Exhaust ones should be at the lowest point of the bilge, but higher than the water level required to turn your bilge pump on.

That's about it, they're not too complicated.
