Bilge vent

Doing some finish work on the dory and realized I need a bilge vent. Looking on line for the life of me I cannot find the vent side that you would hook up the hose to draw the air from the bottom of the bilge. I can find plenty of vent covers and hose, but not the connection. Any suggestions?

On a related note, what would you suggest for the inlet and outlet. I was going to put the outlet on the transom, but the inlet I don't know. I could put them on the center console since the console is open to the bilge and the air flow would go past the fuel tank to the vents in the back.

For the Dory:

You're looking for the connector like this thread:

How to install bilge blower hose to vent?

Yep that boat and that type of vent. I have done a general search on the internet, checked Iboats and West Marine and cannot locate that thing anywhere.

Re: Bilge vent

Ok,

Do you want to mount the scupper style vent:
39386.gif
3" hose attaches directly to bottom of vent, no hose clamp required (on sale @iboats)

Or a louvered vent:

38742.gif
Louvered vent (also on sale @iboats), which requires Attwood collector box 1341 for 2 3" hoses or Attwood collector 1342 for 2 4" hoses, Attwood 1343 for narrow SS vents (2X 3" holes), or Attwood 1345 for plastic vents (2X 3" holes):
1341-A_mn.jpg
no hose clamp required, hose twists into the holes.

Venting for an open bilge below deck? Around the under deck gas tank?

It's been a while since I looked thru your thread, but is it to vent the bilge area under & around the splashwell & the 2 boxes on either side of the motor?

On those boxes near the transom would be where I try to put them first, 1 per side.

You might mount 1 of these to the front of the console, and probably use a connector:

Attwood 3" Twist on hose flange 1405, no clamp required

Happy 4th, have a great, safe holiday

Re: Bilge vent

Thanks that gives me all the info I need. It was the collection box I could not find since I did not know what it was called.

I am putting a vent on the transom off the two boxes next to the motor and air inlets somewhere around the center console. I have a built in fuel tank just aft of the console and the entire bilge is open under the deck so trying to get the venting flow to go from the bow of the boat towards the stern. I am more concerned about being legal more then anything.
