My Larson SEi 194 has a full convertible top with holding brackets on windshield frame. I would much prefer a Bimini top and it would make life simpler if I could use those same brackets for the Bimini. We are slow cruisers and don't tow skiers or tubers and wonder how much risk there would be on windshield for this installation. Has anyone experience or advice in this respect?

Are you thinking of mounting to the aluminum frame that goes from the windshield rearward towards the stern on both sides?
Those are fairly flexible. When I put my bimini on I removed those brackets and attached the bimini to the gunnels.

I didn't want to risk any damage to the windshield, so I mounted my bimini brackets to the gunwales. Windshields are too expensive (and hard to find) if they get damaged.
