Hi all, I picked up a new boat for my collection at the end of last summer. I had been looking for a good deal on an inboard and while at my local marina, the sons owner mentioned that the Mastercraft listed in the subject line was going to be up for sale. I wanted it becuse it only had 314 hours on it! Made the offer and wa-la a fourth boat! Gonna use this for pure skiing/wakeboarding.

Anyway - I need a bimini top for it to shade the kids while resting from pulls. Has anyone used CoverQuest and their Bimini's? If so how was the quality and how was the install? If not them who have you used and can I get the linkage.

Thanks for the time.

Chasmo.

I never heard of CoverQuest until today but I checked out their site. Looks like they sell the same basic bimini tops as everyone else does. You just order by price, service, material, and dimensions. They're easy to install if you understand how to use a tapemeasure, drill, and screwdriver. I personally prefer the Sharkskin material to the Sunbrella stuff because it's lighter weight and equally durable, and it doesn't look like CoverQuest offers Sharkskin.

Lots of biminis are sold right here on Iboats. Go to their "megamall" link and look for "covers and tops." Other competitors that have good products are Overtons and Cabelas.

Howdy Chasmo!

I've never heard of Cover Quest either. Doesn't mean they aren't a decent product. Do some shopping and I'm sure you'll make the right choice for you.

I have a Sunbrella bimini and love it. I can't knock the Sharksin as I've no experience with it. Not sure how old the bimini on my boat is. I bought it used with the bimini. I've had it three years and it's in perfect condition .

One suggestion for a tournament boat with a skylon, which I'm assuming you have or will have if you'll be wakeboarding, is a bimini with a hole in it premade for the skylon. I've seen people cut their own, and most don't take the time to sew the edge and it winds up tearing.
