I have come across some aluminum support rails for a bimini top for my boat. I would like to buy some fabric to attach to the rails. Has anyone ever done this before? What kind of fabric would be good to use? Any ideas?

Easy.... ebay has tons of it Sunbrella works great. If you have an awning shop in your town ....visit them. It is off season and they usually will do the work for you and have the fabric.

There is a downloadable PDF file on sewing your own and making a Bimini top for your boat. It's about 12 pages long if I remember right ( I've got it around here somewhere....might even still have the PDF on the computer somewhere ).

My hat is off to you, I know what it is like to restore a boat. How often do you work on it, I think your said 2009 before it will be done. Come on get your *** to work you can do it this year.

I know who dose this guy think he is, I bet he couldn't do it.

October 2006 I took a wood boat sitting on the bank with holes in the side and bottom the engines still had forty to fifty gallons of water in them that had been there sense June 2005 when the boat sank. people had stoled the all the gauges and everything else that was worth anything off the boat. So how long would it have taken most people to get it back in the water. One more thing, the boat is sixty three feet.

Keep in mind that there are different densities of Sunbrella out there. The stuff made for awnings is typically thinner and not as durable as the marine material. Almost all the Sunbrella I've seen on ebay is the thin awning material.

If it is a boat I can fix it but I live on my boat not married, and shortly after I got the boat I had no girlfriend, go figure. I have no time to date. my boat is futher along then the photos show. I work on my boat most weeks seven days a week and at least five days a week. Some days I will start as soon as I get up and don't until 8:00 to 10:00 pm.
