who has done it? Love it? Hate it? review it......

I have a 1984 Tournament TX 17 and I do pretty much everything in this boat, enjoy it, fish a lot with it, just go for a ride....I want to have a cover of some sort and the Bimini appears to be the only way to go, especially if I dont want it on its and easy on/off application

Can anyone post pics of it on a bass boat??

My concerns are:
- limited casting ability - not a major concern, but still there
- My platforms are level with the top of the rails front and back stepping down? Will i hit it
- What is a good height??? I am thinking about 50" dont want it too tall to serve no (purpose) blocking of the sun..

I need approximately 63-65 inches wide

in short throw out your dimensions and if you love it or hate it.......

Re: Bimini Top for Bass Tracker boat????

I suggest using sunbrella as a fabric and they have many nice setups on Iboats.. as far as fishing its a love hate relationship yes it will get in the way but I will not even take the boat out in the summer without mine.. I have gotten one that is unusually tall so that i can walk underneath (5'6") without ducking and yes it doesn't look great but I'm all about function..Get one and don't look back.. I suggest a taller than usual one on a fishing boat.. you will have less shade but you can move around easily.. Measure the distance from deck to mounting point on gunnel and then use this to add to the size of the bimini to equal your total height.. Remember that a bass boat will have lower gunnels and you will have to get a taller bimini to compensate...

Yea I am set on getting one....Going to use the rail system so I can slide it out of the way.....or shift the shade points........
I have only found as tall as 60" - 5ft. where did you prchase the taller one??

The 60" would come to about 4 inches above my head if I stand in the low part of the boat.

When I was looking for a Tracker, I saw one on ebay where the owner had rigged up a patio umbrella to provide shade while fishing. It was ugly, but it looked pretty darned functional.

I have a Westland brand on mine with the Sunbrella fabric. It is 60" tall so when sitting on the back deck there's plenty of room and the same when stand in the lower part of the boat. They can get in the way while fishing, but nothing you can't deal with. The good outweighs the bad in my opinion.

I would say go for it; in the end, it's about functionality and what you want:)

Fishing all day and having a place to sit under a shade is a great thing:D

Don't mind what others say, it's your boat and your comfort. Just make sure you make it adjustable and easy to fold, just in case you want it out of the way.

Cheers!
