As part of a larger restoration of the interior of my boat, I am having a bimini top added to my 17' v-hull runabout. After much measuring and consideration we determined that using the existing sliders on my boat to hold the bimini deck hinges would work out the best. One of my concerns however with using sliders was how stable and solid the hinge would be however the shop doing the work assured me that the hinge could be locked down in place with a thumb type set screw. In looking around the web, I don't see any bimini hardware that would do this -- all I have found are sliding deck hinges which have a set screw that would require a screwdriver to tighten or loosen. (like in the pic below) Are there sldiing deck hinges which have a thumb type set screw? Thanks.

that is a thumb screw. Look closer at the pic and you'll see the knurled edge around the screw. The screwdriver slot is there in case it gets frozen in place...just an additional way to loosen it. You can also change it to another style that would meet your idea of a thumb screw. I believe it's on 1/4 x 20 threads.

Yea, now that I take a closer look, I can see that. My idea of a thumb screw is something like this:
