<<Biofuels may be good for the environment, but they are bad news for German beer drinkers. Prices in the country's pubs look set to rise by 40 per cent this year, because Germany's farmers are growing less barley for beer production and more crops for biodiesel and bioethanol.>>
<<He pointed out that the German barley crop has been halved this year and that prices have soared by 50 per cent within 12 months. Poor-quality harvests, caused by unusually hot weather, have not helped either.>> Man this sxxx is getting serious now; this whole Bio-Fuel thing has to be the biggest boondoggle so far this century. If we are going to continue on the Bio-Fuel, why not use an alternative to an edible/drinkable crop?
My understanding is cane, beets; even hemp, is a better source for Bio-Fuel. Why bother with making it into gasoline, when it is cheaper to make it into diesel fuel? It would sure make diesel cleaner burning.
We have trucks on the road now that are getting more power, better fuel economy, and burn cleaner. Thank you QC. I have heard that Bio-Fuel provides more horsepower,….well trucks sure can put the horsepower to better use than someone going on a 15 mile commute to work. Some of you may be saying, but tree ,hemp is illegal; we can’t be growing hemp, growing it would have our children smoking pot.
At one time hemp was one of our most plentiful crops, it is easily grown, in any kind of soil, grows like a weed, which I think it is. I can show you miles of interstate I-80 in Illinois and Iowa where it grows wild on the side of the interstate.
Seems that they grew it there years ago before it was illegal, not for recreational use, but for other uses, such as paper products. I have been told by knowledgeable sources, if you tried to use some of the wild hemp to roll a joint you would have to have a joint the size of a telephone poll to get a buzz……remember the key word is knowledgeable sources, as I am subject to random drug test to keep my CDL.
