black box on manifold

What is the purpose of the black box with 3 wires coming out of it on top of carburateor (sp) manifold? Mine looks like it has melted gue in it and is oozing.

I'm not sure what the black box is. It has 3 wires red, blue and black that hook into another panel with more wires. Just not sure what the purpose of the black box is and why it has all that like melted plastic in it.

You must have a V6 Merc and that box would be the idle stabilizer.

I'm just real sure which carburetor you're talking about. Is it the one on your lawn mower, in your car, your boat or your chain saw? Just give us a few more clues. <br /><br />c/6<br /><br />Hooty
