I winterized my "new to me" black max v150 xr2 for the first time and came back to the barn this year with gear oil all over the floor. I am not sure if there is supposed to be a nylon washer or o-ring on the drain plug/screw. either that or I need to work out more and tighten it harder!!

can anyone help me out?

Definately should have a sealing washer in front of the screw. It needs to be tight, but enough to where you can't get it loosened for service again. "DON"T OVER DO IT"

Make sure there is one on the vent screw too. Replace them every time you change the oil. Its very cheap insurance against water intrusion.
