Serial number 08210338 I believe it?s a 89?. Due to military I had to let the boat sit for three years in my pops place while I lived in Alaska. now I?m back in Arizona and trying to get the boat back up and running. Went to lift the motor and I just got clicks from the solenoid up and down. so I bought new solenoids and still have the same results. I am scared that the main pump motor is shot. Also I just to double check myself, when I checked the tilt trim fluid I did it with the motor down. Also does it take ATF?

Thank you
Nate

Yea sounds like a motor not getting current, so unless there is a inline fuse on the main feed to the solenoids, I'll bet it's just dirty brushes/commutator though else if the motor's armature was froze, you'd not only hear something but you'd be pulling a bucket of current each time you hit the up/down switch........Check for a fuse though first. If you find one and it's smoked, the armature could in fact be frozen.

Not sure on the fluid though on yours, I think it was just motor oil on mine, i don't recall and I'm being too lazy to look it up.

Yes it takes ATF check the motor by undoing the 2 long bolts that attach it to pump body, there's a little driveshaft that you can turn to check for seizure.
