Here's a follow-up in case anyone else has the same question. There are two white wires that come from the CDI switchbox. One is supposed to have a black stripe on it to match up to the white/black wire from the stator. The white/black wire is the shorter of the two. I found this by looking at images of the same switchbox for sale on Ebay. One was clear enough to see the black stripe on the shorter of the two white wires.
BTW Charlie61 (maybe you should change your name to "Captain Obvious"), it is CDIelectronics.com. I have been all over their website many times and have never found anything in the way of a wiring diagram for the switchbox.
I am disappointed in CDI's tech support. I sent an email and left a phone message. It took over two days to get a reply. I had to find the answer before that. I am sure that they are busy these days, but would also think that they would want to help the many boaters in-need in a more timely manner. My question was one that would have taken all of 10 seconds to reply to.
So as you may have guessed, I am disappointed in the whole forum. Over fifty views and no one knew the answer, or was too lazy to reply. I would have thought that someone could have looked at their switchbox and threw up a quick answer. The one reply was useless drivvle like the majority of posts that I have seen on these forums. I am going to close out my posts and be done with them. I think they cause more issues than they solve.
