I have a 1966 60HP evinrude. It has 3 blades on the propt now. If I want to tow a skiier does it make sense to put a 4 blade propt on it or doesn't it really matter.

3 and 4 blade props usually run at different heights to achieve their maximum potiental. Todays 4 blade props will probably be better overall but it will have to be dialed in.

You also want to compare the same style 3 and 4 blade props. Otherwise you will be comparing apples to oranges.

What RPM's are you running now? Sometimes folks install a spare lower pitch prop for just that reason. Gives more pulling power at take off and with a load on. When you're done for the day, change back to your regular pitch prop. Do you know what pitch prop you are running now and what type of boat is it?
